I don’t know when I went from un-famous to infamous, but it happened. My reputation as a seamstress, an artist, and a teammate mate proceeds me. I’m told I’m dedicates, I never miss deadlines. I’ll put in the long nights, impossible hours. I’ll stand in the rain, and dance with a train if that’s what it takes to get the job done. today I met with seven people, all over town. Picking up commissions, meetings to discuss film work, camera operator classes, clients, supply shopping. It never ends. My car is my portable workstation. Epoch coffee shop is my office. Steady diet of coffee and cigarettes keep me going, as long as there is gas in my tank. I’m tried and worn, but my dreams are getting closer and closer with every step.
"You can’t win if you don’t try." has become the motto of the day.
I can do this. I will do this. And if anything hinders me, I will fight to gain the things I desire.
you’re really pretty! :D And extremely talented, do you work on hourly rates? I might ask for something commissioned if that’s how you work :o
Thank you so much for the compliments! I miss my long hair terribly, but it’s nice to hear that it looks good short too! You’re awesome!
Yes I am always open to commissions, from cosplay, to couture. I DO base my price on Cost of Materials + hourly rate. That Rate is usually between 10-15 bucks per quoted hour, depending on the projects (the bigger the project, the cheaper the rate) And I STICK TO MY QUOTE! Even if it takes me long, I won’t change you more hours over the quote. You can check out my webby www.shinshayoriginals.com if you want to see more of my work.
At the beginning of last summer I had a friend who was getting married and had zero money to spend on it. I cam through and designed and made her an amazing Wedding dress for 50.00. Yes, FIFTY BUCKS I changed her to make this dress.
In exchange she was going to give me at tattoo. We got about three sessions in, and then strangely she was no where to be found. Now this Tattoo had to be finished by the end of Oct, it was terribly important you see, and miss Tattooist, disappeared. When she did turn up at the end of Sept she said she had lost her tattoo gun and couldn’t finish it anymore, had moved and would be unable to finish my tattoo in time.
Well I didn’t panic for long, and I went to my friend Andreas @ Forsake Tattoo, and although it cost me a pretty penny, he finished my tattoo in time, and it was beautiful.
This morning I get a txt from the original girl saying she could finish my tattoo when ever.
WHAT? Are you Fucking Kidding me? It’s MARCH! FUCKING MARCH! And JUST NOW you are telling me you’d to finish my tattoo? When I told her I had already paid someone to finish it she pretty much told me fuck off, and it was my problem.
I just want to say, I designed, created, and delivered her wedding dress on time, and made the day a success (because, what’s a wedding with out a fabulous dress). And this is how I get treated for it.
And you guys wonder why I have such serious self esteem problems. Every other project someone wants to fuck me up, drag me down, and crush me. It’s hard to stay afloat when you’re all by yourself. Because I don’t have any friends, not real friends, I only have me and my sewing machine. And it’s fucking sad
